Application of waterproof breathable membrane in automobiles

The lighting equipment of automobiles mainly includes headlights, taillights, fog lights, etc. First, the use of waterproof membrane can reduce condensation inside the lights when the ambient temperature and humidity change; second, it balances the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the lights to avoid damage to the casing. The seal fails; the third is to prevent external water, dust, dirt and other liquids from entering the interior of the car light to avoid the reduction of the clarity of the lens and damage to the internal electronic components. Similarly, the waterproof and breathable membrane can balance the pressure difference inside and outside the electronic control unit (ECU) housing and prevent foreign matter from entering and damaging electronic devices.

Many sensors are used in smart cars, including external microphones in noise cancellation systems or traffic sensing systems. In addition to balancing the pressure difference and blocking foreign objects, the waterproof and breathable membrane used on this component cannot affect the pickup effect of the microphone. Therefore, the waterproof and breathable membrane is required to have low audio loss and excellent anti-distortion performance.
